After many years having Dr Essex complete our taxes, I was drawn to tears walking out of "his business" today.... Dropping off our "very simple file" for prep before our April 15th scheduled appt with Dr Essex. Only for the front desk female to tell me Dr is out of the office indefinately and the business is under new management and she will set us up with another preparer and this year is $300 (seriously, in one breath). The fee doubled plus last year cost and is not negotiable! WOW. I have talked highly and referred many to this "Christian business" over the years. Seems as a best practice would be to call your clients and advise of such vast changes and reschedule, but it seems they are just waiting for you to come in to drop off your prep work and boom!!I sure did get a email cancellation by Sarah before even pulling out of the lot!!Beware Folks!!

I have been using Essex Tax for several years and have been completely satisfied. I have even referred friends. This year when dropping of my information I was informed that Dr. Essex was going to be out of the office indefinitely but would prepare my taxes and I would return on pre scheduled date for explanation and signing. I took off work early to make my pre scheduled appointment and upon arriving was told my taxes were not prepared and that they had called me and rescheduled my appointment. I have received no calls or messages. I was also told I would be called when my taxes were prepared. As a truck driver with a non conventional schedule "I will call you when.." doesn't work very well for me. Needless to say I will be finding someone else to prepare my taxes from this point forward.

Great service, staff is kind and very helpful. I was referred to this firm 8 years ago. Many of my colleagues get their taxes done here for their business, and they have always been done right. I highly recommend Dr. Essex.
